Kettle Type Heat Exchanger, TEMA Standard , design according to API 660
API Standard 660 : Shell-and-Tube Heat Exchangers (Kettle Type Heat Exchanger)
Yuhong Group Kettle Type Heat Exchanger (Kettle Type Reboiler) designed to heat liquids or convert them into vapor. While it operates similarly to a shell and tube heat exchanger, its outer shell is uniquely shaped like a boiler or a boiling pot. So some clients also called : Kettle Reboiler. Key features of kettle type heat exchanger consists of a shell or vessel that contains a bundle of U-shaped or straight tubes.
The liquid is introduced into the shell at the bottom and flows upward through the tube bundle, where it undergoes boiling. Above the tube bundle, the liquid and vapor separate, with the vapor rising overhead while the liquid flows over a weir.
Kettle type heat exchanger (Kettle Type Reboiler)application:distillation columns, evaporation processes, refining, chemical processing, pharmaceutical production, food and beverage, and waste treatment.
Advantage of Kettle Type Heat Exchanger (Kettle Type Reboiler):
1. Low circulation rates, horizontal configuration, and all vapour return flow make kettle type reboilers relatively insensitive to system hydraulics. As a result, they tend to be reliable even at very low (vacuum) or high (near critical) pressures.
2. Kettle type Heat Exchanger (Kettle Type Reboiler) can operate efficiently with small temperature driving forces, as high heat fluxes can be obtained by increasing the tube pitch.
Types of Kettle Type Reboilers: Kettle type heat exchangers can be classified into the following types based on the design of the tubes.
1. Fixed tube sheet exchanger: These exchangers have tubes that are fixed in place between two tube sheets.
2. U-tube exchanger: This type of exchanger have tubes that are bent and then connected at both ends to the tube sheets.
