Product Description

ASME SA387 Gr.11 Cl2 Baffle Plate For Petroleum refining Hydrogenation Reactor​

 

 

ASME SA387 Gr.11 Cl.2 Baffle Plate is a chromium-molybdenum alloy steel (1.25Cr-0.5Mo) special plate for pressure vessels.

 

Its chemical composition is based on low carbon (C≤0.15%), chromium (1.0-1.5%), and molybdenum (0.45-0.65%). 

 

 

It is mainly used for internal baffles (Baffle Plate) of high-temperature pressure vessels such as oil refining and chemical industry.

 

It improves the stability of equipment by guiding fluid flow, supporting tube bundles and reducing vibration. It needs to be preheated and welded during manufacturing and combined with post-weld heat treatment (620-650°C). At the same time, it avoids wet hydrogen sulfide environment to reduce corrosion risks. It is a key material for balancing high-temperature strength and economy.

 

Fluid guidance and distribution: Through a reasonably designed baffle structure, the fluid (gas/liquid) flow path is forced to change, short circuit or retention is avoided, and the heat transfer or reaction efficiency is improved.

 

Tube bundle support and vibration prevention: Fix the tube bundle in the heat exchanger to reduce fatigue damage caused by fluid induced vibration (FIV) and extend the life of the equipment.

 

Thermal stress buffering: Under high temperature conditions (≤595°C), the excellent creep resistance of the material is used to alleviate the local thermal stress concentration caused by temperature gradient.

 

Enhanced structural stability: As an internal support skeleton, it prevents the shell from deforming due to pressure fluctuations or external loads and ensures the integrity of the seal.

 

Anti-erosion protection: In equipment containing particles or high-speed fluids, baffles can disperse impact energy and reduce the risk of erosion in key areas (such as pipe nozzles and welds).
