Advantages of U-Tube Configurations
Thermal Expansion: The U-bend allows each tube to expand and contract independently.
Simplified Design: Since only one tubesheet is required (Item 8: SA 336 Gr. F11 Cl. 2), the number of potential leak points and the overall weight of the assembly are reduced.
Bundle Removability: Easily removed from the shell for cleaning or inspection.
