Testing Requirements

Hydrostatic Pressure Test:​ The primary mandatory test. The shell side will be pressurized to 1.5 times the design pressure​ (as indicated by the dedicated Hydrostatic Test Weight of 5350 kg). The test pressure is held for a minimum specified duration while a thorough visual inspection is conducted.
Material Verification & Traceability:​ All pressure-retaining materials (SA-105, SA-106) must be supplied with valid Mill Test Certificates (MTCs).
Non-Destructive Examination (NDE):​ In accordance with TEMA R class requirements and the design code (typically ASME BPVC Sec. VIII), critical welds (e.g., shell longitudinal/seam welds, nozzle-to-shell welds) are subject to NDE. Methods include Radiographic Testing (RT)​ or Ultrasonic Testing (UT)​ for volumetric examination, and Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)​ or Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)​ for surface examination.
