Shell and Baffle Design - Tube Bundle for Imidazoline Production Lines

The carbon steel shell has an internal diameter of 600 mm and a wall thickness of 8 mm. Single-segmental baffles with a 35% diametrical cut are spaced at 400 mm center-to-center, creating seven crosspasses that enhance turbulence and heat transfer. Baffle thickness is 6.35 mm, with inlet and outlet spacings of 476.85 mm and 443.78 mm respectively, ensuring smooth fluid distribution and minimizing vibration risks.

 

Tube Layout and Joint Integrity - Tube Bundle for Imidazoline Production Lines

All tubes are arranged in a 30-degree triangular layout with a pitch ratio of 1.28 (32 mm pitch), maximizing tube count while maintaining cleaning access. Tube-to-tubesheet joints are expanded and strength-welded for leak-tight integrity under thermal cycling. An impingement plate (rectangular, 110 mm × 110 mm) protects the bundle from direct nozzle impingement, extending operational life.
