Yuhong Ships Two TEMA Class R Combined Feed Effluent Exchangers to Oil Refinery in Iraq

This delivery further strengthens Yuhong's footprint in the Middle East refining market and demonstrates the company's proven capability in fabricating high-pressure, high-temperature heat recovery equipment to international codes.

Project Overview

The two combined feed effluent exchangers will serve in the refinery's hydroprocessing unit, where they recover waste heat from the hot reactor effluent stream to preheat the incoming combined feed. This heat integration significantly reduces furnace fuel consumption and overall energy costs, improving the refinery's operating efficiency while lowering its carbon footprint. As critical heat recovery equipment positioned upstream of the fired heater, the CFEE units play a vital role in the reliability and profitability of the entire hydrotreating process.

• Premium Material Selection for Hydrogen Service: High-grade Cr-Mo steels and stabilized stainless steels are utilized to prevent Hydrogen Attack (HTHA) and sulfidation corrosion in severe hydroprocessing environments.
• Advanced Sealing Technology: High-integrity bolted flange connections and custom gaskets ensure zero-leakage performance under extreme thermal cycling and high operating pressures.

• 100% Non-Destructive Testing: All critical weld seams underwent strict RT (Radiographic) and UT (Ultrasonic) examination, followed by PWHT to relieve residual stresses.

Both exchangers were fabricated under the ASME Section VIII Div.1 code with U Stamp and in accordance with TEMA Class R and API 660 requirements. Each unit passed rigorous quality control procedures, including material traceability, dimensional inspection, hydrostatic testing and comprehensive NDT, before being released for shipment.
