Recently, YUHONG successfully completed the manufacturing and delivery of a batch of heat exchanger tube bundles designed for low-temperature service. The core components of these products feature a material combination of SA350 LF2 CL1 tube sheets and SA334 Grade 6 U-bend tubes.
This shipment of tube bundles is specifically engineered for extreme low-temperature environments, suitable for operating conditions at -46°C and below, offering excellent resistance to brittle fracture and long-term operational reliability.
Specifically:
The tube sheets are made from ASTM A350 LF2 Class 1 forged steel, which provides superior low-temperature impact toughness (average value ≥27 J at -46°C), meeting the stringent requirements of ASME Section VIII Division 1 for low-temperature pressure-retaining components. This ensures high strength and structural stability under combined high-pressure and cryogenic conditions.
The U-tubes are manufactured from ASTM A334 Grade 6 seamless low-alloy carbon steel pipe—specifically 2.25%Cr-1%Mo steel—which offers excellent resistance to high-temperature creep and hydrogen attack. After precision bending and heat treatment, the tubes form a precise U-shape configuration, ensuring optimal heat transfer efficiency and adaptability to thermal expansion.
