YUHONG High-Temperature CO-Shift Reactor (HT CO-Shift Reactor) is a critical, heavy-duty pressure vessel custom-engineered. Designed and certified in strict accordance with ASME Section VIII, Division 1 (2015 Edition) with official "U" Stamp certification , this reactor is purpose-built to handle severe Hydrogen Service (H2 Service) under high-pressure and high-temperature environments.

High-Temperature CO-Shift Reactor - Material Specifications

  • Shell & Elliptical Heads: ASME SA-387 Grade 11 Class 2 (1 1 Cr - 1 Mo alloy steel)
  • Nozzle Flanges & Forgings: ASME SA-182 Grade F11 Class 2
  • Internal Bolting: ASME SA-193 Grade B16

 

High-Temperature CO-Shift Reactor - Internal Bed & Packing

  • Top Restricting/Protection Layer (150 mm): Inert Alumina Ceramic Balls
  • Core Reaction Bed (3,600 mm): Shift Catalyst (Packed Density: ~ 4, 140 kg/m3)
  • Bottom Multi-Stage Support Bed (575 mm Total)
  • Fines Retention: Integrated with a heavy-duty 117 Mesh Screen
  • Mechanical Safety Margin: The bottom shell and support structures are engineered with anadditional 3.1 kg/cm pressure allowance

 

High-Temperature CO-Shift Reactor - Testing Standards

  • 100% Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): All pressure-retaining butt welds. Attachment fillet welds are verified via 100% Magnetic Particle (MT) or Dye Penetrant Testing (PT).

  • Advanced Heat Treatment: Elliptical heads are fully Normalized & Tempered post-forming. The fully assembled vessel undergoes rigorous shop Post-Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT).

  • Toughness Verification: Standard Charpy V-Notch Impact Testing.

  • Traceable ITP Compliance: A dedicated Production Test Coupon is installed inside the vessel during fabrication.

Robust construction suitable for our tough operating environment. The vessel handles our coal-to-liquid hydrogenation process with Fischer-Tropsch syncrude—highly corrosive service. The internal cladding overlay (E309L/E347) has shown zero defects after 18 months operation. We appreciate the comprehensive spare parts list and recommended maintenance schedule. The manufacturer even provided on-site supervision during our first catalyst loading. Good value for African market conditions.

Technical bid included HTRI thermal simulation with fouling factor 0.0002 m²·K/W for our naphtha hydrotreater. SA516 Gr485 + 1.25Cr-0.5Mo tube combination optimized for high-temperature hydrogen sulfide resistance. Delivery EXW Qingdao to CIF Ulsan was 22 days, door-to-door. Zero NCRs during FAT. Korean PM assigned spoke technical English fluently. Already approved for Phase 2 EPC.

This manufacturer understands Middle East requirements. The external insulation supports were pre-designed for 150mm thick calcium silicate—saved us field modification time. They accepted our additional requirement for 100% X-ray on all welds without complaint. The hydrogen partial pressure design of 18 MPa is conservative for our hydrocracker service.
