TP316L tubes are furnished in the heat-treated condition. Under 6.2.2, direct quenching after hot forming is permitted for TP316L only when the tube temperature is not less than the minimum solution-treatment temperature. Otherwise, tubes must be reheated to the specified temperature for the required time before quenching.

Supply Capability and Material Grades
Yuhong Group can match TP316L seamless tubes with U-bends, finned tubes, tube bundles, tubesheets, baffles, and heads. Within the ASTM A213/A213M scope, related grades include TP304/304L, TP316/316L, TP321/321H, TP347/347H, TP310S, and ferritic grades such as T5, T9, T11, T22, T91, and T92.
Applications
TP316L seamless tubes are selected for boilers, superheaters, heat exchangers, condensers, and pressure equipment in power generation, petrochemical, chemical, oil and gas, and general corrosive service. The low carbon content and molybdenum addition support welded fabrication and resistance to corrosive media.
Key Benefits of TP316L Seamless Tube
- Carbon max 0.035% reduces sensitization risk after welding
- Mo 2.00-3.00% improves corrosion resistance in many chemical environments
- Solution treatment at 1900°F [1040°C] min with rapid cooling restores austenitic structure
- Each tube receives hydrostatic or nondestructive electric testing
- Hardness is limited to 90 HRB / 192 HBW / 200 HV max
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between TP316 and TP316L?
TP316L has a lower maximum carbon content, 0.035%, which is preferred for welded and corrosive service.
What heat treatment is required?
Solution treatment at 1900°F [1040°C] minimum, followed by water or other rapid cooling.
Can TP316L tubes be supplied as U-tubes?
Yes. Yuhong Group supplies U-tubes, tube bundles, and related heat-exchanger components.
