This tubesheet is machined from ASME SA240/SA-240M Grade 304 stainless steel plate, UNS S30400. ASME SA240 covers chromium and chromium-nickel stainless steel plate, sheet, and strip for pressure vessels and general applications. A tubesheet is not a separate product form in ASME SA240; it is produced from qualified SA240 plate and then drilled, grooved, faced, and finished to drawing.
ASME SA240 SS304 tubesheet is a stainless steel plate component used to support, seal, and separate tubes in shell-and-tube heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and air coolers. It can be supplied as a fixed or floating tubesheet, in circular or rectangular form, with CNC drilling, tube-hole chamfering, pass-partition grooves, and edge preparation.

ASME SA240 SS304 tubesheets are commonly used in shell-and-tube heat exchangers, pressure vessels, air coolers, condensers, and evaporators. Typical service includes water, steam, and mildly corrosive process fluids.
Using ASME SA240 plate as the base material provides defined chemistry and mechanical limits. Yuhong Group can machine tubesheets to customer drawings, including OD, thickness, tube-hole diameter, pitch, hole pattern, groove dimensions, facing, and edge preparation. Material test reports and traceability are available per ASME SA240/SA-240M. Third-party inspection can be arranged by agreement.
ASME SA240 Section 6.2 states that Supplementary Requirement S2 shall be invoked when non-H grade austenitic stainless steels are ordered for ASME Code applications for service above 1000 °F [540°C]. SS304 is a non-H grade. Therefore, when this condition applies, the purchase order and MTR should clearly reference S2.
SS304 is not an H type. ASME SA240 Section 6.1 requires austenitic H types to conform to an average grain size of ASTM No. 7 or coarser, as measured by Test Methods E112. If grain size is critical for a high-temperature SS304 tubesheet, specify it in the purchase order rather than assuming it is automatic.
