The SAMA-T24-V6U is a high-performance, horizontal shell and tube heat exchanger specifically engineered for demanding industrial processes. Designed under the TEMA AEU classification and GB/T 151-2014 Grade I standards, this unit offers exceptional thermal efficiency and structural integrity.

Critical Welding & Assembly Specifications

Material Handling & Non-Destructive Examination (NDE)

  • Material Integrity: All wetted parts and welding consumables must be compatible with SS316L (022Cr17Ni12Mo2).

  • Sequence of Inspection: 1. Perform 100% Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) after the initial strength weld. 2. Repeat 100% PT after hydraulic expansion to verify that no micro-cracking occurred during the expansion process.

  • Final Non-Destructive Examination: All pressure-retaining welds require 100% Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT).

Post-Weld Treatment

  • Chemical Cleaning: The entire unit must undergo complete Pickling & Passivation after final fabrication is complete.

  • Surface Roughness: All wetted surfaces must maintain a finish of Ra3.2.

  • Zero Dead Leg: Vent and drain nozzles must be configured with blind flanges to ensure a "Zero Dead Leg" design.

Testing, Inspection & Preservation

  • NDE: 100% Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) for all pressure-retaining welds.

  • Leak Testing: Pneumatic bubble leak test at 1.7 bar held for 30 minutes.

  • Chemical Treatment: Full pickling and passivation of the entire unit.

  • Preservation: Internal cavities dried to a -40C dew point and pressurized with a 0.5 bar nitrogen blanket.​

We use this for oil refinery bypass cooling. Despite the dust and ambient heat, the thermal performance hasn't dropped. The external coating is thick and very resistant to corrosion.

Perfect for North American standards. We needed a reliable exchanger that meets strict ASME specs. The weld quality on the tube sheets is top-notch.

We installed this heat exchanger at our petrochemical facility in Jubail Industrial City back in March. The ASME VIII-1 certification was non-negotiable for us, and this unit delivered exactly what we needed. The SA516 Gr485 shell material has held up exceptionally well against our high-temperature process streams, even during the peak summer months when ambient temperatures exceed 45°C. What impressed me most was the quality of the welding—our inspection team did radiography testing on random seams, and all passed with flying colors. The supplier kept us updated throughout fabrication with photos and progress reports, which built a lot of trust. We've had zero leaks or performance issues since startup. Definitely planning to order another unit for our expansion project next year.
