ASTM A335 P22 Rows Bend Tube is a high-temperature, pressure-bearing seamless steel tube made of P22 chromium-molybdenum alloy steel and formed into a tube bundle shape using a specific bending and forming process.
 
It typically refers to a tube bundle composed of multiple P22 steel tubes arranged in a serpentine bend (such as a U-bend) to meet the large-area heat exchange requirements of equipment such as boilers and heat exchangers.
 
Advantages include improved space utilization, reduced welds, and increased heat exchange efficiency.

Enables very dense tube arrangement, high heat transfer area density – ideal for large industrial boiler superheaters, reheaters, and similar applications requiring large surface areas. Limited by the 180° return bend radius; space in the center of the tube bundle is wasted, resulting in reduced heat transfer area.
Serpentine (multi-bend) design distributes thermal stress across multiple bends, offering more uniform stress distribution – suitable for frequent start-stop cycles. Each U-bend expands/contracts independently, effectively eliminating thermal stress – ideal for applications with large temperature differences.
More complex process; requires specialized equipment for continuous bending, but reduces the number of connections – cost-effective for large-scale, standardized production. Simpler single-tube bending process; high equipment versatility – suitable for small-batch or custom production.
Open structure with regular tube gaps allows easy physical cleaning (e.g., high-pressure water jetting) – good maintainability. Internal tube surfaces are difficult to clean mechanically; typically requires chemical cleaning. Replacement of inner tubes is difficult; leaking tubes often must be plugged.
Large power station boiler superheaters/reheaters, tubular heaters in large industrial furnaces. Heat exchangers in chemical and refinery plants, especially where large temperature differences or high pressures exist between shell and tube sides.
