1. Scope

· Carbon (C): 0.05% max

· Manganese (Mn): 0.30% - 0.60%

· Phosphorus (P): 0.035% max

· Sulfur (S): 0.035% max

3. Mechanical Properties

· Tensile Strength: Minimum tensile strength of 45,000 psi (310 MPa).

· Yield Strength: Minimum yield strength of 25,000 psi (170 MPa).

· Elongation: The elongation should be a minimum of 35% in 8 inches (200 mm) or 40% in 2 inches (50 mm), ensuring the material's flexibility.

 

4. Dimensions and Tolerances

· Outer Diameter (OD): Generally ranges from 3/8 inch to 2 inches (9.5 mm to 50 mm).

· Wall Thickness: The wall thickness of these tubes is usually thinner compared to other types of steel tubes, offering better heat transfer performance.

· Length: Tubes can be cut to various lengths depending on the design and application requirements.

 

5. Testing

· Flattening Test: The tube is flattened to test its ability to withstand pressure and deformation without cracking.
